Teacher. Veteran. Father.

My name is Sergio Harris and I’m running for Grapevine-Colleyville ISD Trustee. I am a current teacher in the Irving Independent School District at the high school level where I have taught for over ten years.

My family and I have been residents of Grapevine since 2012.  My children are current students in the district at the elementary level and my wife is an active member of the PTA serving in a variety of roles. As a veteran, I served our country for 8 years as a combat medic.

My desire to serve along with my passion for education has led me to run for school board trustee and with your support I look forward to serving the GCISD community in this role.

A Commitment to Serving All Students

Improving Mental Health Resources

For many of our students, the pandemic has created additional and new challenges. I’m committed to improving mental health resources to help our students in and out of the classroom.

School Safety and Security

Protecting our students, teachers and staff with safe and secure campuses is a top priority for me, including requiring background checks for all visitors that enter schools during the day.

Valuing Inclusion

I’m committed to developing a school district that represents students across all socioeconomic, ethnic and learning backgrounds.

Teacher Retention

As an educator I recognize the profound impact our teachers make in the lives of our students. I’m committed to ensuring GCISD attracts, retains and cultivates our wonderful teachers.

Responsible Spending and Fiscal Management

I believe in balancing fiscally responsible initiatives and prioritizing equitable compensation while properly funding school programs and services.
